Hi Everyone...and Thanks :o)
Devon laid right on top of me all afternoon into early evening
yesterday...both of us sleeping...I slept right through
Lord of the Rings Two Towers :o( He didn't want to drink anything all
afternoon and evening again and ran a 102 temp again in the evening :o( His
breathing has been very rapid/eratic (kind of like when he used to do the
real fast abdominal breathing when his asthma would flare up...with his
body just not being able to quiet...very agitated movements and jerking
occasionally...but not like a seizure....and no wheezing) when he's been at
his sickest...very worrisome ;o( This morning he woke without laying in
vomit...a good thing...wanted a drink...also a good thing...and went back to
bed.
He's taken like 3 naps already today...not used to that!!! Went in to wake
Nick up and he has a cold (sneezing all afternoon yesterday)...so he stayed
home and in bed. Truthfully...when I went in to check on him he seemed
fine...except for the sneezing...probably could have gone to school...but
that's ok...everyone needs to play hookie every once in a while.
Devon wanted drink after drink after drink today (VERY picky what he wanted
to drink though...either milk or strawberry/kiwi gatoraid)...still didn't
want to eat though which had me worried since he's usually such a piggy :o(
I also gave him a bath and brushed his teeth...I figured that might make him
feel a little better...and I think it did.
I called the doctor just to reassure myself there wasn't anything else I
needed to be doing...he said just keep doing what we're doing and give him
time...he's been pretty sick. He also said he thinks Devon has had something
called Rotovirus??? Gotta go look it up...see what exactly that is...I've
heard of it but don't really know what it is...I assume Devon's symptoms
fit?
I have been offering Devon all different things to eat today...to no
avail...until 1/2 hour ago...I got him to eat almost a whole container of
yogurt!!!! Felt like I won the lottery!!!! He also asked to watch a
video...so he's now laying on the couch watching Barney Live in New
York...the laying part is very unlike him...but we'll take it!!!! I
absolutely must go back to work tomorrow...my boss is going to Virginia to
visit his son Matt and family (granddaughter Megan especially) at the
Airforce Base...they leave in the AM...bad enough I've been gone all
week...left them in a lurch....but couldn't be helped. Nick may stay home
again to watch Devon if he's not really too bad off....my mom might be able
to come wait on him for a couple hours too since he's not his usual
rambunctious self...he wouldn't be so apt to overpower her and hurt her.
Joe's head has been in high gear...probably because of the stress of
worrying about Devon...and Devon's continuous whining because he doesn't
feel good just makes it worse :o( He just kinda wanders around today (sort
of like a pin ball bumping into bumpers) and fidgits and lays down and makes
a continuous noise that's not really a whine but not a happy noise
either...and he has this expression on his face like someone gave him a sour
lemon or like he has a bad smell under his nose :o( I take it to mean his
tummy still feels precarious.
Sooooooo...there's the update...all in all a good one I think although I'll
be happy when he's aggravating the snot outta me again and getting into
trouble...just remind me I said this :o)
