To use this report as an example.
> GTG-Banding
    - the long test and the one you need in court because its the "gold"
standard.

> Cultures: 1
    - a grade 1 result meaning that they only looked at the cells from one
flask

> Cells counted: 30
    - the lab person manually counted the number of chromosomes in 30 cells.

> Cells analyzed: 5
    - the lab person looked closely at the chromosomes in 5 cells to see if
there were any obvious problems eg obvious deletions, translocations etc.

> No. of images: 9
    - they took pictures of the chromosomes in 9 cells

> Cells karotyped: 4
    - from the 9 pictures they cut up 4 sets of pictures and identified each
chromosome number for comparison and close examination to make sure each
chromosome "looked" normal and had no obvious deletions or partial
trisomies, at this stage they are looking more for inversions etc.

> Band resolution: 550
    - thats the magnification of the pictures that they looked at.

Yep skin can be sooooooo different to blood.

Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.
