Hi Sarah,
This is amazing. What a medical team you had! I guess what astounds me the
most is that as surgeries go it is not exactly rocket-science advanced
stuff.Just good doctors doing their jobs.
Our sweet baby died in the very best children's hospital in Canada. We are
led to believe that this hospital is world reknown and they are always doing
amazing surgeries and discovering wonderful cures.
However, they could not take our little trisomy 13 baby, miraculously born
without a serious heart defect and without holopresencephaly or apnea and
make even a simple diagnosis or attempt at diagnosis. They have claimed
ignorance of trisomy conditions as an excuse to their lack of actions.
Thank you for sharing your experience and I will forward your response to
Mollie's mom.
Wishing you all the best with your busy family!
Barb

Zoe had a fundoplication done when she was 6 weeks old. Prior to that her
O2 levels were really going down. She was crying all the time due to reflux
and it got so bad that she began to get apnea. She was also blueing and
unable to really eat. After her surgery her O2 levels went up, she no
longer needed oxygen, she wasn't blueing anymore and her apnea went away.
At the same time she had a G-tube placed and ever since then she has been
mostly healthy and has gained weight well. Prior to that she wasn't even up
to her birth weight. That was almost 6 months ago. She has not had to go
to the doctor since except for routine check ups.
Sarah, Mom to Zoe T18 and 10 other wonderful blessings.
