[tri-med] Re: quest. Re: bedside flexible bronchoscope

Hi,
To the best of my knowledge, it is done under ga. I think maybe because of the
whole cough/gag reflex interfering.

Are you also the mom who was looking for Physicians to speak with a reporter?
If so, here is some info. I tried to post on the T13 website but it did not
work.

I have received nothing butcompassion from my physicians here in Chicago. Dr.
Donald Liu is thehead of pediatric surgery at Comer Children's
Hospital/University ofChicago. He is particularly compassionate and may be
willing to speakout. At the same institution, you might also try... Dr.
TimothySentango, GI and Dr. James Mitchell, Gen Peds. All have expressed
thatwe do not know everything about kids affect with trisomys and how these
kids deserve thesame chance as any other child to reach their full potential.
The mainnumber to the hospital is 773-702-1000 and their offices can be reached
by dialing that number.

Please feel free to email me on or offline if you have any questions or need
any other referrals.

Take care,

Melanie

Subject: [tri-med] quest. Re: bedside flexible bronchoscope

Quick quest please.
Did anyone's child ever have a bedside flexible bronchoscope done on their
child (no general anesthetic)

done on their child to assess the lower airways for something like
tracheomalacia?

Is it possible to assess the airway below the glottis without general
anesthetic?

Thanks so much.

Annie's mom
