We had the KidKart, too, but like you it wasn't the greatest for short runs.
We had a Convaid Cruiser and it was probably mine and Morgan's favorite. It is
lightweight and folds almost flat like an umbrella stroller. If I ever had to
get another one I would probably get one of the Convaid ones again. You can
get lots of supports for them, but they come off easily, too, so when she sits
better you can gradually remove some of the supports.
We currently have the Axiom stroller that Jude said she didn't like much. It
is definitely bigger and bulkier and doesn't fold flat. It is not for short
runs. We only use it when we are going to be out for all day or when we go to
outside events that might be off pavement (in the grass or gravel roads.) This
stroller, even with the small swivel wheels on in front, goes very well off
road.
We paid for the Axiom ourselves. The Convaid Cruiser we happened to get 2nd
hand locally very, very cheap. Our DME supplier says that our insurance (Blue
Cross) rarely pays for strollers, if ever, and won't now because Morgan has a
wheelchair.
