. I am 19 weeks pregnant and I was told by my doctor 2 days ago that my
baby is having edwards syndrome. The doctor told me that the chance for the
baby to survive is very minimal. She asked me whether I want to continue
the pregnancy or just terminate the pregnancy. I am so confuse right now!

Hi Salleh. I'm sorry that you have a reason to search us out but glad that
you've found us!

Right now the best thing you can do is what you are already doing! Gather
information.

What do the doctors say are the problems they see (ultrasound and/or other
tests) that your baby has?
Do your know if your baby has 'full trisomy', 'partial trisomy' or 'mosaic
trisomy'?

After you have as much info as possible look at YOUR individual situation.
Nobody else is walking the same path as you.

No 2 trisomy affected chilren are alike, just as no 2 people are alike in
general.

Also, NOBODY can tell you exactly what the situation will be with your baby.
Yes, most do not survive birth or very long after. But some do live. For
years.
Some children has severe medical issues, some don't.
Some children have severe emotional and behavorial issues, some don't.
Some children will never move under their own power, some will walk and run.
Absolutely NOBODY can tell you 100% what your child will be like.

Take into account all of the above and make a decision based on what you
learned, what you know and what your life/situation is like.
Then go with your gut instinct.
