[tri-med] Re: older triers

Kaiya is all about rocking...and she's all about swinging! Her favorite
swing is the net swing. She likes being encased in the netting and she is able
to
spin and swing really high. I haven't noticed any decrease in her rocking
with the swinging. She's just all about vestibular stimulation. If she could be

hung upside down all day long she would be the happiest kid in the world!

Claire had PT today and she was 'rocking' - backand forth, something
she just started doing, and her therapist mentioned that she wasn't
getting enough 'spacial' stimulation... mentioned that she needed to
swing, etc.
We had an infant swing for her when she was tiny, but gave that away
as she outgrew it. Now we will look into another swing for her. The
PT mentioned that sometimes kids don't get enough and they tend to do
to things that are socially unacceptable (like rocking).

Guessing that parents with older triers knew this, but might be able
to chime in on what we should think about in regards to stimulating
her with swings, and does it help to keep her from rocking? How cool
to have a simple solution like that.
