(no subject)

OK, so here it is. I took Candace to the doctor yesterday b/c the papers
from Iowa City said if she is sick the week before surgery to have her
checked by the doctor. So, she's had a cold and I took her in. Well,
doctor says she has allergies and cough induced asthma and we might have to
cancel surgery. Completely took me off guard. Anyway, called Tena to watch
Candace (she hadn't eaten since the morning) and dropped those two off at
home and went to pick stuff up at Walgreens on University (I had dropped the
RXs off before I went to get Tena). Well, they have nebulizers, but they
can't bill insurance for them (that makes no sense and would have been nice
if they told the nurse that called them for me in the first place -
whatever) and they only had one of the two inhaler medicines (again, would
have been nice if they had told the nurse). Soooo, had to go to the
Walgreens at ThunderRidge to pick up the other inhaler medicine, then come
back to Falls Avenue to Apria to get the nebulizer (yes, they bill
insurance). Then I found out that Apria has everything for the nebulizer
(inhaler medicines) and I could have gotten everything there for her. Ah
well. Nice to know that now. Anyway, gave Candace some Zyrtec for
allergies (the doctor gave us some samples to make sure it works for her)
and then last night gave her 2 treatments before bed. She did not like that
at all. But here's the good news - she's still sleeping and I put her to
bed around 9 last night. She had been waking up coughing and cranky in the
middle of the night, but not last night. Yea!!!! So, I told Dr. Chandra's
nurse (ped card) about this, and she talked to Dr. Chandra (he was gone for
the day) and he said the cough may be due to her heart and to not cancel
surgery. So, I guess the surgery is still on. Candace goes back to the
doctor Monday, and I figure I will let the two doctors decide what is best
for Candace (with my approval of course). Other than that, not much is
going on with her - she will get another treatment this morning and then two
more at bedtime, which is going to be her routine now. Anyone familiar with
all this?
