Hi Mikki (glad that you go by that and not Michelle as it sometimes gets
confusing with multiples of us around! lol). There is no such thing as a
silly question. We've all been at the beginning of trisomy and there is so
little info out there about our special kiddies we fumble around a bit
initially but this list is a great source of info, support and resourse
ideas.

We too had a dr that had us start feeding our children "earlier" than most
do for various reasons. With our non-trier it was to try and help her colic.
Each dr is different with different ideas. He also had us introduce foods
one at a time, THREE weeks apart, not the standard few days or week (claimed
allergies won't show themselves in a few days necessarily). Find what works
for you and go with it!

The food is going in the G-tube right? But it's making him produce extra
saliva and coughing? hmmmmm, what does your dr say?
Did all this start after the introduction of the rice cereal? The coughing
stops after you suspend the rice cereal for a few days? Could be an allergy
or something going on with his digestive system. Definately question your
dr.

I've never dealt with a g-tube so don't know right technique from wrong
there. I'm sure that others who do have the expertise will jump in and give
their views.

Tell us more about Brendan--how's he doing medically, physically and
developmentally?

Welcome to the trisomy fun park!
