{ Although, the thought of a
feeding tube terrifies us! I know that sounds silly,
but surgery, infection, ongoing care, ect is extremely
intimadating. }
Nicholas got his tube at age 6. He had surgery and wouldn't eat afterwards.
He lost 5 lbs. which is very significant for him. They suggested a g-tube. I
didn't want it, but had to at that time. I now wish we would have done it a
long time ago! When he is sick, it is soooo much easier than fighting to get a
bite of food in him. And meds are sooo much easier too. I don't worry if he's
sick or falls asleep before supper. He eats 100% of his meals by mouth, but
that g-tube is a wonderful back-up! I'm keeping his in for good!
