Barb,
What an interesting story about the pediatrician who has a T13 son. I am a
firm believer that there would be many more triers out there if doctors
would only give them a chance and if the parents would not be given a death
sentence from the time they find out about their child. It wasn't that many
years ago when they treated children with Down Syndrome the same way they
are treating the other trisomies now. Not sure what made them change their
minds but things are very different now. We had a son with Downs 4 years
ago and it was a totally different story with him than with Zoe. He was
actually sicker and needed more care than she has so far and yet they never
questioned once that they would do all they could to save him. Hopefully
we will all be used in changing how people view these precious gifts.
Thanks for standing up and wanting to make a difference!
Sarah, Mom to Daniel T21 and Zoe T18 (Feb. 14, 2006) and 9 other wonderful
blessings.
