Thankyou Pam!!!
I love the internet for everything these days. I remember when I was
studying and if you wanted a medline search you had to pay $20 (a lot of
money back then) and then wait a week for the list of article titles. Now of
course you can do medline searches free in minutes.

I am always looking for uni students and lecturers that are willing to let
me borrow their library access codes so that I can retrieve articles from
journals. When Alex was first diagnosed I would spend entire weekends at the
medical library finding and copying articles - I even pulled the original
articles by Patau and Edwards at one stage. These days Alex gets too bored
and I don't have the money for copying costs anymore. Much easier and
cheaper to save the articles as PDF files these days.

Earlier this year Tracey managed to find me a student that was willing to
trust me with his library access codes when I was really really desperate.
It helped more than I can say. So I will definitely keep you in mind!!!

I have a major collection of journal articles on Trisomy, all flavours - not
quite as avid these days as I used to be, but I still try and wrangle copies
for the key articles for families who may need them. eg John's articles on
the Natural History of Trisomy, the Atlanta article on survival, the cardiac
surgery article etc etc. I tend not to worry about the autopsy articles or
the pre-natal diagnosis articles anymore unless there is something really
earth shattering in the abstract.

Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.
