[tri-med] Re: kam was super

Hi Jude,

From what I've been reading you HAVE been doing the right thing, and
this is a recent issue. I would only add one more thing which you may
like to consider. Instead of having her prone on her back, try
sitting her on the potty. Tess now has a special potty chair for
disabled kids. The reason sitting might help, with the knees raised
with a cushion under her feet, is that it means that the rectal
position is more "normal" for feces to come down, gravity helps, if
you get what I mean. She will probably still need the suppository and
perhaps a laxative as well, some times, but it's worth a try. In the
beginning Ian just made a foam insert for the baby potty, as Tess
would have fallen right in without it. Now she uses the special
chair, which to me, looks like a high backed plastic chair with a
hole cut out of the bottom, (with foam seat, I think?) wrap around
a little bit at top and sides, with a safety strap to stop her
falling off if she should wriggle too much. She never does, as she is
used to sitting on the potty.
