Heather,
Did Jeremiah have esophageal atresia? Morgan had this
and he was severely jaundiced. The atresia isn't
really connected to the jaundice, but it could be the
reason it didn't go away quickly. Morgan had to be
under the bilirubin lights for weeks. Because was
only getting i.v. nutrition he wasn't having as many
bowel movements or urinating as much. These are the
ways the body gets rid of the bilirubin. So, it just
took longer for him to become unjaundiced (is that a
word?) BTW, Morgan was not yellow, he was ORANGE!
Yes, he was as orange as a pumpkin. LOL
