Alex did that for a long time, guess it's why we didn't get to things like
ground meats until he was approx. 5.

Something that was noticed when Alex was approx. 1 yr was that his frenulum
was too long (tongue tied is another name for the condition). It was
observed by Jim's step-Mom (and RN) when she was watching Alex manipulate
some rice cereal and saw what his tongue WASN'T doing. She then called over
Jim's Dad (a dr) and had him check it out.

Some people don't have any problem with this affecting their tongue
movements or speech and others do.

We had Alex's frenulum clipped in the drs office. Within 20 min I gave him
some food and he was manipulating it MUCH better than before the clipping.
He could finally stick his tongue out of his mouth. :0) Maybe that's not
really such a great thing. LOL

Age 1 (Alex was still immobile) if we put him on the grass he would get this
panicked look on his face and try to lift up as many body parts as possible.
He also didn't like getting his hands or feet dirty. People would laugh
after he was 3 and mobile when he'd get sand or something on his hands and
come over to have them wiped off.

Alex never voluntairly goes bare foot even today, not even swimming. He
wears water shoes.
