[tri-med] hypertrophic cardiomiopathy

In October, when Ivy was in the hospital for the drug hypersensitivity
disaster they discovered a new heart condition. Originally they said
she had pulmonary and aortic stenosis, and scheduled a follow-up with
the cardiologist we used to see before her ASD and PDA resolved
themselves. We saw him Wednesday. He now has give us the diagnosis of
hypertropic cardiomiopathy. Now, he was very clear with his explanation
of the physical problem, and of course I have done some research of my
own on the internet. However, as always, I'm lacking the human factor
to the story. Does anyone else's trier have this? And if so, how has it
progressed, complicated life in general, etc? I understand the
technical part of it all, but he couldn't really give me a prognosis
for Ivy, with the 10q thrown in the mix.

We have also been advised to dig into our ancestry and find if any of
our relatives have died suddenly at an early age. Unfortunately, my
husband has two great uncles that did. Now, he also has to have an echo
and EKG done.

Any input would be helpful.
Thanks...you guys rule!
