When I'm really stressed, I have trouble thinking clearly, can not
add up simple figures, or remember names. Maybe this is how it feels
to be "muddled".
Frank has this all the time, and I am constantly helping him remember
words or where he's left something. It is getting worse. The other
week he rang home and said "I think the car's been stolen". We went
through the usual, which entrance did you come in etc. I said I'd
come in and drive him around the carpark to look (in my car). But if
he really thinks it's been stolen, he needs to report it. When I got
there, he and the security guy were waiting at the entrance, they had
walked around a bit looking for the car and couldn't find it. I said
I would drive Frank around the carpark to look. We exchanged details,
phone numbers etc, and security said "be sure to ring and let me know
if you find it, as I have to report it to the police if not". We
began our drive around, and Frank's mobile rings and it's the
security guard, saying "I've found your car Mr Knowd". He had parked
it up on the outside carpark (where he's never parked before in his
life), and had NO RECOLLECTION of parking up there.....THIS IS MUDDLED!!!!!!!
