Some businesses have great handicap parking and others are horrible. The
area to pull down the ramp isn't wide enough. One example is our Arc of IL
center (which serves the special needs population). It has two handicap
spaces and there is no way to get a ramp down with great big concrete flower
pots in the way! And our Easter Seals only has very few handicap spots and
no automatic door.
just an observation but the disabled parking places in the USA are about
twice the size of ours here in Australia and ours here allow no such thing
as 'extra' space for doors etc. I personally think that there are
inadequate spaces for disabled drivers/passengers and our disabled passes
seem way too easy to get.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end tomorrow it's already tomorrow
