I guess I should have mentioned the reason I question an allergy to the button
is because when Morgan was a baby and small toddler age he had a bard button
and the stoma was perfect. It never had granulation tissue, it never got sore,
it wasn't even red at all. At age 2 1/2 yrs. it was removed because he was an
oral eater and drinker. In the spring of 2005, when he got a g-tube again, it
was a bard at first. We had no problems with it or the stoma. But, he gained
so much weight that he literally popped that button out. We switched to the
mickey and we have had problems ever since.
