For internal

I would be cautious putting cortisone cream directly on the stoma or into
the stoma; the cortisone can be absorbed into the blood stream and have
serious
systemic effects like kidney and liver toxicity, seizures and increased
intracranial pressure, pancreatitis, and shrinking of the stoma.
Granulation tissue is the tissue that the body uses to build flesh back up
from the inside out. On my unit where I work, we have a lot of patients with
wounds that we care for: our focus is to foster granulation tissue so that
the wound heals from the inside up (as opposed to the skin down). So, for wound

healing, granulation tissue is key; I guess in the case of a gastrocutaneous
fistula, you wouldn't want it to heal over...

Strengthen my tiny wings,
Help me to take on the world,
When you love me,
There's nothing I wouldn't try,
I might even fly.
