I also had a vaginal birth with Mari. That was one of our birthing plan
requests. We freaked out the labor & delivery nurse, because Mari's heart
rate would dip dangerously low everytime I had a contraction. She kept
running in & asking us if we wanted to have a c-section. In my mind, I
thought if she could survive a natural delivery....she might have a better
chance of being with us longer. But in reality, I didn't want her to die
during birth. So I just quit having contractions. Finally, my OB came in &
suggested we turn off the heart rate monitor. We did. Contractions began
immediately & she was born about 30 mins. later!
