Never having breastfed a child before I was all newbie at it with Alex. And
all the stress and worry and not knowing what was wrong with him took it's
toll as well. And I couldn't get a relationship with the hand/manual pump
going.

Add in the cycle of trying to breastfeed Alex for an hour, then giving up
and pumping--taking half an hour, dribbling/dripping it into him and rubbing
his neck to get it to go down as Alex had no suck this taking another hour
for an ounce to go in, then cleaning and sterilizing the pump (pot of
boiling water) and starting all over again in an few hrs.......it was taking
me approx. 3 hrs to try and feed him every 2 hrs.
If we hadn't been trying to orally feed it might have been different maybe.
It still makes me sad.

However, with Molly I breastfed for a year (even while working part-time)
and pumped for those days I was gone (still using the hand/manual pump).
Just call me Elsie 'cause we had more than she needed. lol
