hey all, we just went to kam's new colorado eye doctor. he upped (sp?) her
prescription from +450 to + 650....so her new lenses are lots stronger.
then he said she has very pronounced a pattern esotropia. he explained that
when she looks down with her head back her eyes are not crossed. when she puts
her head down (chin toward chest) her eyes are very crossed. he is
recommending surgery if i do some patching when she gets her new lenses and see
that her head control appears better.
ok experienced folks...(didnt we have some lurking eye professionals...???) i
need to know if this makes sense to anyone else. we are forever working on kam
to look down at the toys on her lap or tray or table. my sick big kids and i
are always saying it is not time for hellen keller play as she would rather
feel around for a toy than look down at it. we assumed this was a head control
(or lack thereof) issue.
i am going to check with her preschool about having the vision itinerant (kam
doesnt really qualify...) and the ot doing a patching test there too.
thots anyone?
