Actually, we live in Fort Walton Beach, FL, over 4 1/2 hours from New
Orleans.   New Orleans was just the closest hospital with a pediatric
surgeon at the time.  The doctor in Pensacola, which is 1 hour away, had
just moved overseas and they didn't have anyone else available for all of
the complications we were expecting with David.  A diapharagmatic hernia is
serious by itself, then add Trisomy 18 Mosaic and the doctors around here
start looking for a place to send you.  We had our choice of New Orleans or
Birmingham.
