Susan, and anyone else with experience in minimal/no depth perception,
I know that one adapts to having no depth perception. By the time we Alex was
diagnosed as 'minimal depth perception' he had adapted--could catch a ball, go
up/down stairs etc. The ophthalmologist said that most people do.
How does this translate into driving?
Is it a 'new' step in adapting as it's not something done before?
Or does the 'adaptation' cover all bases?
I'm suspecting the first scenario but want some input from those 'in the know'.
Thanks,
Michelle mom to Alex (17, partial trisomy 14 mosaic) and Molly (14)
