[tri-med] Re: continous feeds

LOL! I knew I had to have miss read that! I was like wow 271 mls!! :)
Sorry! We had a lower gi test. I believe that is what it was called.
They put the contrast in his g-tube and watched it go down all the way down to
his colon. This test took like 6 hours because they did a series of xrays!
And it hardened like clay and he couldn't get it out the other end! They
ended up giving him like 32 oz of the contrast to fill all of the intestines
and colon. He has a hernia and he was having such problems eating that they
wanted to make sure that the hernia wasn't causing the problem. It turned out
that it wasn't. He lost like 3 pounds. And all because he was so
constipated. He was going every day but he must have had a lot of hard stuff
stuck and it was squeezing around it. Nasty! He was so miserable. This
went on for like a month. My poor little man!
I also remember Daylin crying for hours when he was little. It was horrible.
I couldn't do anything to help comfort him. I do remember sticking his ear
right to my mouth and making a shhhh sound really loud in his ear and this
helped a lot of times! I also used to put him in the bathroom with the shower
running. He loved the noise of the shower! He would go to sleep and sleep
for hours! But of course I had to let the shower run the whole time! But
it was well worth it! I still put him in the bathroom while I take a shower!
My six year old Cody said something about it the other day! He said mommy
it's a good thing Daylin is blind or your wouldn't take him in the bathroom
with you! Of course he is right! My husband used to take him outside
when he would get too mad and this helped too. Because it is so bright and he
can see the light I think. It still works!
I sure hope he gets to feeling better soon!
