When I was using the rectal thermometer there were NO digital
thermometers
nor were the ear thermometers invented yet.<<<<<<<<<<<



Sooooooooo  true!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Its probably only been in the last 5 yrs
or so that they have been discouraging rectal temps........not that I
have ever heard of anyone doing any damage.........and the ear
thermometers that were all the rage, they took them away from us at the
hospital about a year ago as they are not accurate ( big surprise as
they are made for adult ears and need to be right down were you are not
supposed to put the Q-tip to work) BTW during SARS when they were taking
all our temps on entry to the building they were using ear thermometers!
