That's the way Alex's was for the first 3 yrs of his life. He was the
glycerin suppository king. For a yr after that we used them on and off.

As an infant I'd "grease the chute" using K-Y Jelly and a thermometer (could
get the KY around the hard stool close to the anus). Also did the massage.
It got a bit better when he became more active.

We tried the Karo Syrup but didn't seem to help Alex.

It did get better once Alex was able to concentrate and push of his own
accord. We never had a dr suggest any meds for this. Seems like a lifetime
ago.

About a yr ago after Alex had been quite ill he got stopped up. The
suppositories didn't do the job (stool has to be low down to work) and we
had to do an enema (Jim did it on our 15 yr old). Alex just loved that
experience. NOT.
