Nicole, Does Sierra have a pediatric gastroenterologist? It sounds like
something should be done. For years we gave Joanna suppositories, almost every
night as waiting even a few days would make it impossible for her to go - even
when consistency soft. Drs. finally found something that worked (can't
remember
the name, it was discontinued as found to produce cancer in rats), and we
went back to suppository/enema routine. Now she is on 3 senna tablets ground
up
every night, mixed with baby fruit, diluted with water and put into g-tube and
she usually has movement by morning. If nothing that morning and senna that
night produced nothing, then enema which works for her - luckily we've got
enemas down to only once every month or two. One gastro at conference told us
with the poor muscle tone you just have to try to get consistency almost like
toothpaste to make movement easier to pass. Very frustrating part of Trisomy -
not as life threatening, but chronic and stressful for all - and then what
works one month may not the next! Good wishes for lots of poo!
