[tri-med] Re: considering a g-tube-car seats

I had huge problems with that. I almost got a car bed for Logan. The 1st
hospital actually had it done illegal and it would cut off his air supply when
he was in it. Which was why every time we got in the car he turned blue and we
would end up in the er. They gave me those styrofoam noodles and I put it
behind is upper back and neck to keep him from allowing his chin to rest on his
neck. The other thing we did was to tilt the car seat at a more at an angel so
that he it wouldn't be hard for him to hold his head as much. I know that it
took a few months before I was able to ride in the car with him without
stressing that I wouldn't end up back at the er from the trip alone. Now it is
not a big deal at all. Tina

Nancy,

Mari's physical therapists created a foam insert (molded to her body) for
her car seat. We covered it in fabric & then sealed it with silicon to make
it easier to keep clean. It helps tremendously in body alignment.

doesn't breath the best in that position. Does anyone else have this
problem?
