Jackie,
My son, Morgan, had a g-tube placed when he was 10 days old. He had this
done while having other surgery. He never really wanted to take a bottle.
His weight gain was always very, very good. He weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz. at
birth, went home from the hospital at 6 wks. weighing 7 lbs. and was almost
20 lbs. by his first bday. I credit this weight gain to the g-tube, I
might not be right, but Morgan could never have gained weight like that
without it. Like you, we continued to try bottling, at 6 mos. a feeding
specialist recommended trying a sippy cup, Morgan really took to that. He
started taking cereal at 5 mos. He had his g-tube removed when he was 2
1/2 yrs. old. Hope this helps.
