Hi Jackie,
Welcome to the list. The g-tube isn't a bad idea, but I'm glad to hear
you intend to continue with the oral feedings too. It's easier to keep
them eating, then to get them eating again. My daughter Philina didn't
get her g-tube until she had some surgery complications at age 19. It's
taken us a year to really get her eating well by mouth again. I don't
begrudge the tube at all, and it can stay as long as she will leave it
relatively alone, but she didn't really start putting back on any of the
weight she'd lost while she was in the hospital, until she was eating well
orally again.
Is that Crystal Lake in Illinois???
