It also works the other way too :-(((
I had prem labour for months before all three of my kids and so was
lactating for months before they were born (to the extent of having to wear
breast pads constantly)
Strangely though, after each birth I went from producing milk to colostrum
again before going back to milk. But the quantities were much larger than
most people. The nurses all got a shock when they would come in with the
trays and a teeny syringe to collect the colostrum and then have to leave to
get more syringes or a bottle......
