Same here. One time after Alex had had a particularly bad crisis and we
still didnt have a clue what was going on I actually planned Alex's funeral
down to the last detail and even got our minister involved.
Thankfully we have never needed it, but in a strange way it was very
therapeutic.
When Alex was very young I think that was part of why I was so desperate to
know about all of his problems as well. It wasn't so much looking for
problems as being "prepared"
I still tremble it when lots of "unknown" stuff is going, but I am much
better these days.
