[tri-med] Re: cardio expert - Lori

think I need some serious help or what?? LOL>>

Lori:

It seems to me that its called "survival" - we all know the reality for our
kids and we know how blessed we are to have them and for every day that we
get to keep them. But I think those little mental detours you are talking
about (which I experience often as well) are simply our way of dealing with
the reality.

Sometimes I wonder why I go mentally galloping down all these roads when
there really are no problems in sight - just the knowledge of the
possibilities. It finally dawned on me that what we are doing - and I think
that women tend to do this more than men - is "practicing". I don't know if
that makes sense - but in my experience it seems that when I have mentally
travelled through an experience that it isn't such a shock, or rather I am
more prepared if that particular experience becomes reality.

I know that when we were expecting Kristina - and I know that probably all
of you out there that knew of the dx prenatally - during that time we
traveled both roads. In other words we planned for her life and we planned
for her funeral. One was out of hope and prayer and one was because I guess
we were being realistic. In any event I realized then that it was because if
I had already been there mentally then it wouldn't be new and unknown if it
happened.

Does this make sense to anyone?
