[tri-med] antibiotics--scary side effects!

We had a bit of a scare today!  When we changed Elanor's diaper this
morning, her stool was bright red.  We were wondering if she wasn't =
getting
enough water and had broken blood vessels due to firm stools, or if =
there
was a bigger problem!  After looking at the stool (eew) I thought it =
seemed
more like lipstick or something waxy than blood.  Well, before =
panicking, I
looked on the internet and found that the antibiotic she is taking =
(Omnicef)
causes reddish stools if given with iron (Pediasure is fortified with
iron!).  Boy, it sure would be nice if they mentioned that on the
interactions sheets!  But it reminds me what a great thing the internet =
is!
I just Googled Omnicef, and there it was!  So if anybody uses Omnicef,
BEWARE! :)
