Subject: [tri-med] akaiya on youtube

i put some videos of akaiya on youtube that i thought were amusing. they are
both from last summer. one is of her "talking" - not her ear piercing
screams, just some cute talking. and the other is of her eating her first
cheeto.

another thing i've been meaning to share...we were at the doctor about a
month ago b/c akaiya had been having fevers and congestion. her ped got out
a tongue depressor and the minute akaiya saw it she clamped her lips
together. i have no idea how she knew he was going for her mouth with that
thing, but she did. her doc was so impressed with her (even tho she was
being a little punk and not letting him look at her throat). he would say to
her "you know i'm going to try and get this into your mouth don't you?" and
she would turn to him, give him a big ol grin, and clamp her little lips
shut. we've only been with this doc for a little over a year, and he's
always pretty quiet. he turned to me and said with quite a bit of amazement
"she's actually really smart." i was so shocked i just smiled. we've
actually been there two more times since that day to pick stuff up and
whatnot...and he treats her totally different now. i almost feel like she
won him over. it's not like he wasn't
nice before - he just wasn't really warm or interested. it felt good having
a positive doctor experience!

oh yeah, and kaiya lost her first tooth! she looks like a little pirate
now...
