Oh yes - there are Catholics everywhere :-)) I have a very racist family
member who would have a comment or 6 if I mentioned that to them :-))

I am more interested in proportion of the "population" that are Catholic and
I am especially looking at the Atlanta area.

eg would 90% of all Hispanics be Catholic as say compared to 60% of all
whites. And would Hispanic Catholics be more "old school" catholics - that
is less liberal in their thinking.

I don't mean to spark a religious debate - I am simply looking at the
survival statistics of trisomies and whilst we would not dream of splitting
up our births based on race some American studies do.

Consequently I am looking for a POSSIBLE explanation as to why more Hispanic
babies are born AND survive longer, then the babies born to parents
classified as "black" and finally whites have the worst rate.

Of course whether its based on religion is something that you would never be
able to prove unless you spoke to the parents. Its just an interesting
trend.

Over here the general population would refer to races more broadly and not
so much on "colour". eg people tend to split people up into Asians, Muslims
and Aussies. There is also less distinction between mixed races - its more
geared toward where you live. Cultural differences.
