I finally found the natural history ones on my hard drive, not the cardiac
one though, only the Atlanta article, so if you could scan that I would be
grateful.
It is too late for today, I was just actually thinking that the appointment
should be over now, but I would appreciate having them to give them in the
next few days. I just hope that all went well and that the surgeon has
agreed to operate. I will give them a call later to find out, in the
meantime I am praying, sending positive vibes and all the good kharma I can
muster from the universe believe me.
For everyones info this mum contacted Ronnie after the TV show last week and
he looped her back to me. The irony is that the family only live a suburb
away. The dad actually works just up the road!! Actually their whole
situation is cosmically similar to mine. They have two teens and this
"unexpected" pregnancy after being told she couldn't have any more children.
They are living a street away from where I lived with Alex when he was a
baby....... spooky twilight zone music. And I mean what are the odds of the
mum watching an obscure documentary on the ABC which had nothing at all to
do with babies to hear T-18 mentioned and then living so close?!?!
The doctors have told them that there are no surviving children anywhere and
are refusing to operate on the baby. (where have I heard that before) They
even refused to do a c-section but the family have finally convinced them to
do that at least. (the babies problems are such that mum will have to have
to have a c-section if the baby is to survive the birth and she will also
need surgery within the first few days - non cardiac) So I have sent them
off to an appointment with a surgeon armed to the teeth with stories and
pictures of our Aussie kids, Savannah, Krystal, Matilda, Sarah, Melissa etc
etc and of course all our international lads and lasses as well as copies of
Smith's, various articles and all the T-18 books. They touched and wished
upon all my foot and hand prints too............
If this doctor doesn't work then I have already spoken to a couple of
general surgeons who I can put the family in touch with. I even spoke with a
thoracic surgeon just in case. Though the good news on that front is that
they can no longer say that no T-18 baby has ever had heart surgery, we have
broken that horrid record with a little one in Melbourne and another in
Brisbane thank goodness. Not to mention Alex....... but then he is mosaic
<evil grin> which is an excuse that suits them when it suits them only.
So if you can spare a thought or prayer I know that they will appreciate
it!! Michelle? Chris? do you have Earth Mommas phone number? (off list) This
little one has similar issues.......
Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.
