UPDATE: The Upper Peninsula Wal-Mart fundraiser did not raise lots of money
due to various factors (one being that a local business next to Wal-Mart had a
competing car wash and this type of fundraiser is not designed to raise
thousands of dollars) but the awareness that was raised outweighs any monetary
figure!!! WLUC-TV6 ran a two minute interview about Noah's Never Ending
Rainbow, Trisomy and of Gina and Taylor Anderson (Taylor has Trisomy 8 mosaic).
Two minutes devoted to the awareness of Trisomy is absolutely WONDERFUL and
who can put a money value on a two minute interview! Gina had tried for
several years to get WLUC-TV6 to conduct an interview and raise public
awareness in her community but they were never perceptive. With the help of
Noah's Never Ending Rainbow, we got Gina and Taylor's story out in their
community! For Noah's Never Ending Rainbow, public awareness is essential
because if the public doesn't know or understand what Trisomy is, they won't be
inclined to give or support our efforts or any other worthy Trisomy
organization/foundation for that matter hence our strong efforts and commitment
in raising public awareness. I have not seen the interview as of yet but Gina
said it was really good...Taylor loved the cameraman's tripod and the
reporter's microphone :) Gina said she got emotional when talking which to me
makes the interview more real. Can't wait to see it! Once I get a copy, I
could always dub it for others.
Again, a special THANKS to Gina, her family and friends for volunteering their
Saturday to raise awareness of Trisomy in their community! Taylor is now the
superstar of the UP...Gina said he was laughing and pointing at the TV when he
saw the interview last night! Way to go Taylor and Gina!!!
Stay tuned on the potential, up to a $1000.00, matching fund from Wal-Mart!
Keeping our fingers crossed on that!!!
Angel blessings to all.
