[tri-med] US Alex update continuation

Well, after discussions with Alex's spec ed case load teacher, the Economics
teacher, Alex etc we've come up with a plan.
If Alex were to fail Econ (a graduation requirement) then he would drop a class
next semester (wouldn't hurt his grad credit requirements as he has more than
he needs) and re-take the class.
His case load teacher was unhappily surprised (as was I) at how much the grade
this marking period was test based (5 test grades and 3 assignments).
Tracey, who's been Alex's caseload teacher for the past 6 out of 7 yrs, said
"We all know Alex NEVER tests well no matter what we do or how we do it". So
her plan is that if he fails that she'll write new accommodations for that
class to off-set his 'disability' in the area of testing.

Well, I think the Econ teacher decided that if that was going to happen he
might as well offer some accommodations of his own now.
His suggestion is to have Alex bring home the final exam (or maybe a test he
makes up for Alex specifically) and work on it with us or alone, looking up
answers and discussing them. He said, 'from the sounds of it Alex would gain a
lot more out of that exercise rather than sitting there with a scan-tron
sheet'.

So.....................the case load teacher loves the idea, Jim's on board so
now I'll present the idea to Alex. Pretty sure he'll go for it too.

For those of you keeping us in prayers and thoughts that this whole episode
have a good ending, we may just be getting there!
