[tri-med] Trying to update

I TRIED TO SEND THIS A FEW DAYS AGO AND IT WOULDN"T GO. HAVE UPDATED, WHERE
NEEDED, AT THE END.

Hannah is still in the hospital. Day 8 now. She had the Bronchoscopy
on Wednesday to clean out her lungs and the eurethra dialation to
releive bladder pressure. Both went well but you'd never know that
they cleaned out her lungs!

No UTI now so that is cleared up. The sample they took when they
suctioned her showed some critters growing so she is now on bactrim
and amoxicillin. Of course that brings on diarrhea. She is on 2 liters
of O2. Still no word on when she will be able to come home.
Last 2 nights she had a rough time, O2 dropping, alarms going off.
Even deep suctioning didn't bring the numbers up. Then, out of the
blue, AFTER they had called the floor doc, it went to 100% and stayed
there. It dropped again after the doc left but we were able to get it
to stay around 94-97.

I've been having computer problems and can only get to e-mail
spiradically (SP?). i bought a used laptop a couple days ago but now
we can't find out modem card! :) The rooms at the hospital have all
been remodeled and have outlets for high-speed access but it's not
connected yet.

I'm on my way back to the hospital now to releive Donn so he can come
home and get his syllibus ready for classes that start on Monday.

Some day we hope to get some sleep.

-------------------

Tuesday, Day 12. Yesterday they did a chest x-ray and an upper GI x-ray.
Today is a PH probe. She was taken off the O2 yesterday morning and did ok
most of the day but had to have it put back on in the evening. They also
took out the IV yesterday (third one this stay) and put her back on her
feeds. With the PH probe she is on bolus feeds, 90 cc every 2 hours. Fever
off and on yesterday. None so far today. They are also checking CO2 levels
in the blood as they were down. Up a bit last night, hope this morning's
sample is also up. Still waiting for the c-diff results from last night.
Massive diarrhea. I was talking with a doctor over her crib when we noticed
she needed to be changed. While we were talking she went again and WAY
overfilled the diaper. Maybe she just wanted fresh bedding! :)

Donn is talking to the social worker there about options for nursing care at
home.

Still having computer problems. Couldn't even down load mail at home this
morning. Even in web mail! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.......
