Hi Kelly, my daughter has not needed a tube since she
was about 4 months old and she is 6 now.  She loves to
eat!  Of course the food is rather pureed.  We just
kept trying the bottle until she finally had the
strength to catch on.  She was lucky though because
she didn't aspirate her food and she was able to learn
to eat by mouth.  If your son does not aspirate his
milk, then it is a possibility that he can learn to
eat by mouth.  Good luck!
