[tri-med] Re: Trisomy 18 on Oprah Winfrey

Okay, I'm a little confused.  They took off his oxygen and feeding tube and
three days later he dies.  Is that what they were aiming for?  I mean, is that
why they took off his oxygen and stopped feeding him because they decided to
let him die?  The narrator said it was no easy feat.  Does that mean they
thought he was getting better and that's why they took everything off or that
it was a hard decision they had to make?  I know it's their decision and I
respect that but I just didn't get the ending.

Hello All,
I have heard that Oprah Winfrey is doing a show on "miracle babies"
on Oct 28th and
one of the stories will be about a baby with tri 18 who lived for 99
days.

His life is the subject of one of the most watched videos on perinatal
palliative care. I am not sure what this will do to promote the ide that the
babies are all unique and the disease is not universally lethal or degenerative
in the short term. But it will certainly reveal how precious the lives are.

Here is the video. (warning; religious content AND you might need some
tissues!)
