[tri-med] Re: Toys/Games/Books/Videos

kaiya's all time favorite has to be her links. she likes things that light up
and play music or things that spin. her favorite toy of the moment is this
sesame street orb type thing that sits on a base and she can spin it. it lights
up and plays funky techy type music and all the characters yell stuff out. this
toy tends to be really creepy for me because it activates spontaneously - at 3
in the morning i'll hear oscar yell out "I LOVE TRASH!"? kaiya has just started
playing with little figures - like the mcdonalds happy meal toys - she can bang
them on her tray and nothing is more fun than making tons of noise to
kaiya...her favorites on that kind of toy right now are shrek and donkey - they
both talk when she bangs them. she gets to banging both at the same time and
then it's a real party! musical instruments - like bells or percussion
instruments - go over really well too.

Someone just mentioned TOYS . . . could you all share what
toys/games/books/videos
your children just love. Soleah loves babies (books, dolls, barbies, diaper
and
wipe labels) as well as piano toys (anything with a keyboard) and play food
and
cooking utensils. Other than that, I have never gotten her to really play with
a toy. What are some toys that work well for children with special needs or
for
your kids specifically? If you have links, please send. If anyone is
interested, I will make a list and save. I'm going to email another local
group
as well so I'll share all of the info.

  Thanks for sharing! Nanci
