The forwards below for sharing, beginning with ARC, seem important to pass
along to others for those of you who might have a story to bear as
evidence of hate crimes against individuals w/disabilities

Subject: FW: [steveslist] Hate Crimes

You may have noticed that Hate Crimes legislation was introduced
this week in the Senate. We understand from the Hill (Harkin's office, I
believe) that they are really short (like virtually none) on stories of hate
crimes specifically against people with disabilities. I wonder if you might
ask on the listserve if people have some stories or examples they can share
with us.

The dilemma is that we may not get included as a protected class if we
cannot show evidence.
