Yes - but its that not the vaccinations believe me.
Lived there, worked there and there is a lot more to the story than anyone 
being fearful of vaccinations. Actually thats a new one on me.

A lot of the mums hide their children when the nurses turn up simply because 
the kids are drunk - and I mean 7 and 8 year olds (and younger) being 
habitually drunk, not being fed or cared for and so on. And before anyone 
accuses me of being biased - I could be - but it would be the other way, 
white is not always as white as it seems.

Koori children (and I am talking of Koori's in the outback not in the city - 
thats a whole other story) are more at risk of diseases such as glaucoma, 
malnutrition, diabetes, otitis media and other such problems - many related 
simply to diet and care. Even the Koori's themselves are now seeing that the 
real problem is lifestyle and education and have imposed alcohol free 
communities (that is the Koori leaders have imposed alcohol free 
communities) The change in the kids (and health) in those communities is 
nothing short of amazing. There is no increase in autism amongst Koori 
children that I am aware of - the huge campaigns here are to stop 
malnutrition, deafness (from repeated ear infections) and blindness (most 
from simple eye infections eg trachoma) in Koori children and so prevent 
many needless deaths and disabilities. Additional targeted problems are TB, 
HIB, VD, renal disease etc.
