Hi Janet, I'm sorry I didn't respond before, but good
luck applying for SSI! I don't know what state you
are in, but here in IL it really wasn't that hard. I
think the hardest part is gathering up the paper work
that is necessary to apply and then keeping your
records up to date. Alot of good came out of SSI here
in IL. We applied for SSI and because of that, Faren
was automatically eligible for Medicaid which helped
pay for ALOT of equipment. Being a part of medicaid
made faren eligible automatically for WIC which helps
us with pediasure. Although we cannot recieve SSI
now due to increase in income, we still get medicaid,
although because it is on a ridiculous amount of
spenddown, we really can only use it to get the WIC.
That's ok. Pediasure is expensive! Good luck again,
and it sounds nice to be able to stay home with your
daughter. take care,
