Tess has spent the week in Mt Druitt hospital again, after bouts of
vomiting with old blood. She is back on the feeding pump again, 62
mls per hr, but not from 10pm till she wakes up am, as she was too
disturbed by the pump during the night. The ped thinks (he stressed
that it was just HIS thoughts), that she is reacting to the mic-key,
as it is pulling her stomach out of shape because it is tethered in
three placed now instead of two, making it almond shape instead of
round, that could be causing her discomfort from reflux or other
unknown (at this stage) pressure, due to her scoliosis. He said to
wait to see if this happens again, and if it does, then it's back to
the gastro doc, and back to the drawing board, so to speak. I spent
the morning with her yesterday. I did manage to get some smiles from
her. She is such a tolerant little girl and puts up with most
procedures without a murmur, but absolutely hates when they take her
temp under her arm, and wriggles and pushes their hands away (can you
believe that), but only frowns when they stick a canula in her hand
to get blood. She is with Daddy this weekend, so I'll see her this
evening when we go over for dinner.
Please keep Tess in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery
and NO MORE BLOOD PROBLEMS PLEASE.
Jocelyn, loving Nanna to Tess with Trisomy 18, age 11 years
