Hi All,
I had a call from the neurosurgeon yesterday regarding the MRI of
Brendan's head and spine, he wants to do the surgery on the tethered cord to
release the pull of the of the cord n the spine. We are have been told that
this is the reason for his scoliosis and to do the surgery now would help him
in the future. Does anyone have any thought about this and any questions I
should ask the Dr. I get so lost sometimes when they tell you thing, I have a
million thoughts and questions in my head and I never seem to be able to get
them out. I thought that I can right some down before I talk to him. He did
said the incision would only be about an inch, hospital stay would be for 3
to 4 days, he did talk to Brendan's cardiologist and his heart is strong
enough for the surgery, the risk are about 5% for leakage of spinal fluid and
a few others he mentioned I can't remember. Any help would be greatly
appreciate it. Thank you.
